El Al JFK Terminal +1-888-839-0502

Hi! Our journey at El Al JFK Terminal continued to be dull as we headed towards boarding. The gate staff were quick and friendly, ensuring all had documents ready for an easy transfer onto the plane. Since it is security-minded there was an additional screening process before boarding, but it was fast and well-organized. We appreciated the extra checks, as they reassured our minds that passenger safety comes first. Despite the added security, the experience was hassle-free, and we were extremely well cared for. Overall, it was a great start to our journey!

First Impressions

We arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport a few hours before our flight, as we always like to have enough time to check in, go through security, grab a bite to eat, and settle in before boarding. It operates out of Terminal 4, which is one of the busiest and most modern terminals at. Despite the large number of travelers, the terminal was well-marked with clear signage, making it easy to navigate.

Check-In Process

The check-in process was well-organized. We had already selected our seats and completed most of the formalities online, so the staff quickly processed our luggage and handed us our boarding passes. One thing we appreciated was how prioritizes security—they have additional security measures in place for international flights, particularly to Israel, which is understandable. We were asked a few additional security questions by trained personnel, which was handled very professionally and respectfully. It gave us confidence knowing that they take passenger safety seriously while maintaining a friendly atmosphere.

Security Screening

After checking in our bags, we proceeded to the security checkpoint. Since follows a thorough security protocol, we expected a slightly longer process. The TSA security personnel were extremely professional, guiding passengers efficiently through the screening process. Although the lines were long, the entire process was smooth, and we appreciated the additional security measures that made us feel safer. For families traveling with kids, the staff was patient and accommodating. They ensured that families with young children had a slightly quicker screening process, which was a thoughtful touch.

Terminal Amenities and Lounge Experience

Once we cleared security, we had some time before our flight, so we explored Terminal 4 a bit. One of the highlights of this terminal is the variety of dining and shopping options. There were plenty of food choices, from quick snacks to sit-down restaurants. Since we had a long flight ahead, we opted to grab a meal at one of the restaurants near our gate.

It has a dedicated lounge for premium passengers, which my parents were able to access since they were flying business class. The lounge was comfortable, with plenty of seating, complimentary food and drinks, and a quiet atmosphere—perfect for relaxing before a long flight. Even though my siblings and I were flying economy, we appreciated that the general seating areas in the terminal were clean and well-maintained.

Boarding Process

When it was time to board, El Al’s boarding process was smooth and well-organized. They announced boarding in groups, ensuring that passengers with special needs, families with young children, and premium passengers were given priority. The gate agents were polite and efficient, checking passports and boarding passes quickly to avoid any unnecessary delays. We were impressed by how well the airline staff managed the boarding process despite the large number of passengers. The clear announcements and structured boarding process made it easier for everyone to get to their seats without confusion.

In-Flight Experience

Although this review mainly focuses on, I have to mention that our in-flight experience was also great. The seats were comfortable, the cabin crew was attentive, and the meals provided were surprisingly good for airline food. The entertainment system had a good selection of movies and shows, which made the long flight more enjoyable.

Conclusion

Overall, our experience was pleasant and well-managed. While JFK Airport can be overwhelming due to its size and passenger volume, operations at Terminal 4 were efficient, secure, and traveler-friendly. Here’s a quick summary of what we liked:

  • Smooth check-in process with helpful and professional staff.

  • Strong security measures that made us feel safe without being overly intrusive.

  • Convenient terminal amenities, including great dining and shopping options.

  • A comfortable lounge for premium passengers.

  • Well-organized boarding process, ensuring timely departures.

While the lines at security and check-in could be a bit long, this is expected at a major international airport like JFK. However, staff ensured that the entire process remained smooth, and their professionalism stood out.
